Wild Alba Tours will help you hunt down the best wildlife and nature guided experiences, giving your holiday some special moments and lasting memories. We offer wildlife and nature walking daytrips and safari tours in the North East of Scotland, Cairngorms, Speyside, Moray and Angus.
You can seek outdoor adventures with a wildlife safari on our estates spotting Red Squirrels and Otters or have a relaxing afternoon stroll and picnic on the banks of the River Spey with no agenda. We bring you the best Mother Nature has to offer.
Wild Alba Tours can tailor make the trip just for you.
Most importantly we only run small tours for up to 6 people at one time. This gives you the best experience possible and access to the ranger’s and ecologist’s expert knowledge and experience.
In a hectic world of deadlines and stress, treat yourself to a relaxing day of slow adventure with one of our wildlife walks or safaris. These tours are ideal for those who like to unwind as they enjoy and explore the great outdoors.
You can follow a set route or have a flexible agenda of things to see. We can stop and look at whatever catches your eye with no fixed timetable or itinerary. Please give us a call and we can talk to you about what options will work for you and what experiences you want to have.
Tours start at £17.50 per person and are available for a maximum of 6 people at a time. To book a tour call us direct on 07966 201859 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
Our rangers and ecologists are on hand to help you plan your day. We will give you a flavour of the authentic history and culture of the area; introduce you to the way that the landscape has changed over time and is managed today; introduce you to the living landscapes of Scotland and take you to some special places.
There is always the opportunity to include a host of different activities during your tour. We are in an area that offers many options; cultural visits, historical sites, numerous whisky distilleries, exceptional landscapes which are all just on our doorstep and some of the most interesting coastal villages with fantastic beaches and bays, the great glens, lochs we love, scenic routes and classic views.
We also have a selection of Wildlife and Whisky tours. Our special Speyside whisky tours are a chance to do something different combining a guided outdoors nature trek and whisky tasting experience. We can take you into the hills on our off road safari with dramatic views of the surrounding distilleries and cairngorms mountains.
Wild Alba Tours will be doing guided walks around a Castle.
We will be running daily guided nature walks from our favourite castle. Ballindalloch Castle the ‘Pearl of the North’ offers five hundred years of highland history. You can explore the large formal gardens, woodlands and riverside walks. The grounds offer a children’s playground, picnic areas, coffee and gift shop…and some amazing toilets which have won awards!
Over the summer months we are planning on running daily guided walking tours of the castle estate. We will take you along the side of the mighty River Spey and Avon to enjoy the many sights along their banks.
The various tracks and paths around the Castle estate offer the chance to see red squirrel, roe deer, greater spotted woodpecker and goldcrest. At harvest time, hay and silage making will be underway in the grass pastures close to the Castle, adding the chance to observe the operations of a working estate.
Wild Alba Tours are working with Glenesk wildlife to welcome you to the ‘Secrets of the Glens’.
These tours in beautiful Glen Esk are part 4×4 safari, part nature walk; part cultural tour and very unique. The tours can be a full or half day wildlife adventures. We will take you to see some of Scotland’s most iconic wildlife from Red Deer to Mountain Hare.
Glenesk is in the rolling Angus Glens in the southern part of the Cairngorms National Park. You will start your tour at Glenesk Retreat and Folk Museum, from there you’ll experience how to read the signs that will tell the story of the area and their natural residents; past and present.
Did you know that Scotland is one of the best land-based dolphin watching hot spots in the world.
There are other options available like seeing dolphins and whales in the Moray Firth on a sea life cruise. Take a visit to Loch Garten, famous for the ospreys, with nature trails through Scots pine woods. Enjoy the snow road from Tomintoul into royal Deeside, a ribbon of road in the bare mountains, past the sentinel ruin Corgarff castle.
Our tours can also take you on a whisky-fuelled adventure through the stunning Speyside scenery along Scotland’s Malt Whisky Trail. Along the way we will encounter a wide selection of iconic wildlife. You will hear about the evolution of the whisky industry, and the importance of the trade to the local and national economy.
We can also take a select group out into the hidden valleys and up onto the moorland and hills. Surrounded by an array of wonderful wildlife, we can tell you about the secret history of illicit whisky making in the area, how this formed an important economic activity and is a highly influential aspect of Scotland’s history and culture.
