This will be a guided tour with our rangers who will talk to you about the living landscape and the habitats you will walk through. We will see how many species can be spotted on the way. There will be a prize for the person who sees the most.

Price £45 per person

The walk will take all day as it is roughly 15 miles.

Sunday 21st of October

Experience the living landscape of the hills and moors of Glenlivet.

Our ranger will take a select group out into the hidden valleys in Glenlivet and up onto the moorland and hills.  Surrounded by an array of wonderful wildlife, we will talk about the secret history of illicit whisky making in the area, how this formed an important economic activity and is a highly influential aspect of Scotland’s history and culture.

This walk is ideal for those who like to unwind as they enjoy and explore the great outdoors at a slower pace.  No jumping in and out of minibuses ticking off target species, just a leisurely walk with our expert guide who will point out wildlife along the way.

Although we follow a set route there is no fixed itinerary and we will stop and look at whatever catches your eye along the way.  We will also have a wee dram to toast the great people of the area who have been making whisky, both legal and illicit.  We will also provide a snack half-way through to sample some local products.

This walk requires a degree of fitness and will be on rough paths so good footwear is important.  It may also be cold and as it is Scotland it may rain so please also bring some warm waterproof clothing.
